You tried to knock on the door, but it was already open... eerie really, almost as if someone was expecting you, but that's impossible - isn't it??????? Anyway, you find yourself in the hallway, the centrepiece of which is an old winding staircase, there are two doors on either side of the staircase. You stop a minute and listen... you can't hear anything. Perhaps you should investigate, look for signs of life. Go through the doors first, and leave the stairs for later...
